(d) Candidate has published two research papers from / based on his / her Ph.D. work, out of which at least one must be in a referred journal, 
(e) Candidate has made at least two presentations in conferences / seminars, based on his / her Ph.D. work.

Areas of Training: 

The Library and Information Management Programme provides an opportunity to work and learn the practical and functional Library and Information activities which include various library operations such as acquisition of content (both print and Digital), Classification, Cataloguing & Organization of Information Resources, Document Delivery Services, Digital Information Services, Research Support Services, Processing of research publications, Information Systems, Design & Development of Information Systems and Services, Web based Information Services etc. They are expected to work in various aspects of Digital Library, Innovative Research Information Support Services, Knowledge Organization and Management by using state of the technologies and systems.

The Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology (IGIT) library is looking for young, dynamic, highly motivated committed Post-Graduates in Library & Information Science from recognized Indian  universities to serve as Library professional Trainees purely on a temporary basis for one year.

Essential Qualifications: Master’s in Library & Information Science (MLISc) or equivalent with first Class (60% Marks or more)

Nature of Traineeship: Learn while you work on different functions & services of the library.

Duration: The duration of traineeship will be for one year.

Remuneration: Consolidated stipend of Rs.10,000/- per month.

The selected candidates will have to work from Monday-Saturday (six days a week) and be ready  to work in different shifts and weekends on rotation basis.

Essential Qualifications: SSC (10th Standard) with minimum 60% marks + Trade certificate of minimum one year duration in relevant trade i.e. cataloguing of information books, journals etc., database, handling of library based software, etc. 

Experience:- 04 years of experience in the library related work after obtaining requisite qualification.

 Age: Minimum 18 but not more than 45 years as on 03.01.2022 for ST-PwD category i.e. born on or after 04.01.1977 (both days inclusive). 

Job Profile: Assisting in the procurement of print and online journals/e-books/online bibliographic or citation database etc. and maintain the journal access. Day to day activity/work of the library including generating barcode, spine labels, tagging of books/ journals/ magazines etc. in RFID. Shelving/ arrangement of library resources. Maintenance of library. Assisting in maintenance of library and the resources, and help in management of resources and library facilities. Any other duties and responsibilities assigned by the competent authority from time to time and follow the instructions/order given from the reporting/reviewing officers.
