   Assistant Librarian are assigned following duties and
  responsibilities:- (i) Reference (Retrieving and supply of information both
  in soft and hard form) (ii) Library Committee meeting (iii) Inter Library
  loan (iv) Circulation (v) Newspaper/Magazine (vi) Providing of electronic
  resources to Hon'ble Judges/ library (vii) Providing documents for
  chamber/court/residence library (viii) Binding of loose parts/ rebinding of
  books/ reports etc.  |

   Shortlisted candidates in Paper-1 (CBT) will have to appear in Stage -
  II and Stage-III examinations as per the details given below:- Stage-II:
  Written Paper-II, Total marks - 100, Total time allowed - 180 minutes The
  Written Paper - II would consist of following: (a) Basics of Library Science
  and Documentation and its various aspects:- Library Classification,
  Cataloguing, Information Storage, Retrieval Techniques and bibliographical
  formats, (b) Reference and Information Sources and various techniques/services
  (c) Library Automation:- Application of Information Technology in various
  areas of Libraries and Information Centres. Library Automation Software and
  their comparative Study. Various types of databases. (d) Concept of
  Electronic, Digital and Virtual Library. Library 2.0 and its various aspects,
  Search strategies & Metadata, WWW. (e) Networking:- Library Networks. (f)
  Open Source Software and its applications in Library and its services (g)
  Budgeting Techniques, Library Co-operation, Knowledge Management, Library
  Consortium. The following shall be the qualifying criteria for the next stage
  of Examination: General Category : 50 Marks (50% of 100) Reserved Category :
  45 Marks (45% of 100) Criteria of 45 Marks (45 %) would also be applicable
  for PwD candidates of categories . Out of the total number of candidates
  qualified, candidates to the extent of 10 times of the number of vacancies
  would be called for the next stage, i.e. Interview. Stage-III Interview
  (Total Marks - 25 Marks):- Qualifying marks for General Category candidates
  will be 12 marks out of 25 marks and for Reserved Category (including PwD)
  candidates will be 10 marks out of 25 marks. Notes:- (i) There shall be no
  rounding off of marks at any stage of the examination. (ii) The candidates
  are expected to have good knowledge of Computer and typing. (iii) The final
  select/merit list will be prepared by adding the marks secured by
  candidate(s) in the Written Paper-II and Interview. (iv) The cases of tie of
  marks shall be resolved by applying the following methods one after another:-
  (a) Marks obtained in Stage-II, i.e. Written Paper-II. (b) Marks obtained in
  Stage-III, i.e. Interview. (c) Date of Birth, i.e., the candidate older in
  age gets preference over younger in age.  |
